Program Director

The Desert Southwest Conference is seeking a Program Director for Camp Mingus Mountain located in Prescott Valley, AZ. The Program Director will supervise and coordinate all aspects of the Desert Southwest Conference Camp and Retreat Ministries (DSCCRM) programming and assist in hosting and hospitality for guest groups at the site. The person in this role will also assist in daily operations, marketing/promoting events, and managing seasonal staff and volunteers. The Program Director shall offer Christ-centered experiences that reveal our place in God’s story.

Essential Functions

• Programming
  • Schedule, plan, promote, and supervise DSCCRM hosted camping, retreat, and other sponsored events/programs.
  • In coordination with the Camp Director, recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise seasonal program staff, both paid and volunteer.
  • Assist in managing and/or facilitating specialized program activities offered at the site.
  • Develop new and relevant programs and evaluate existing programs to ensure they are effective and in accordance with DSCCRM mission and values and all ACA standards.
  • Promote DSCCRM in churches, youth groups, and through community events throughout the year.
  • In Coordination with the Camp Director, plan and oversee off-site programing and trip camps.
• Hosting
  • When requested by the Camp Director, provide on-site hosting services, acting as the main contact person between camp and the guest groups during their stay.
  • Coordinate evaluation and follow-up procedures for the events, including securing buildings, invoices, and event evaluations.
  • Oversee and participate in making camp ready for the next group. This may include cleaning and sanitizing cabins, restrooms, and other buildings on camp.
• Marketing/Promotions
  • Assist the Camp Director in marketing, recruiting, and scheduling new groups.
  • Assist the Camp Director in marketing the site programs to children, families, churches, and local communities.
  • Assist in managing and implementing social media, email, and print marketing.
• Fund Management and Development
  • Assist Camp Director in creating an annual budget to submit to the executive and board for annual approval.
  • Manage the site budget for programs in consultation with the Camp Director.
  • Oversee the distribution of the site campership funds.
  • Participate in fund raising for both camperships and capital campaigns.
• Camp Planning and Management
  • Participate in strategic planning and goal setting for camp.
  • Implement the strategic plan.
  • Engage and coordinate Spiritual Directors and/or Deans for each summer session.
  • Recruit and retain sufficient staff to run summer and off-season programs.
• Maintain ACA Accreditation standards related to all DSCCRM programs and non-DSCCRM retreat guest groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry, Camp, and Recreation, or a related field and relevant experience is preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience in full-time year-round camp and retreat program management is required.
• CPR, AED and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain is required.
• Must obtain and maintain up to date certifications for all specialized activities available on site.
• Successful completion of Safe Gatherings training.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Willing and able to work long hours during the summer program season and available to work weekends and holidays as dictated by retreat and program needs throughout the year.
• Strong interpersonal skills when working with participants across age groups.
• Able to effectively utilize technology and social media for communication and outreach.
• Knowledge of and familiarity with the United Methodist structure, Church mission, core values, and Christian beliefs is helpful.
• Knowledge of and experience with American Camping Association accreditation standards is helpful.

Supply Chain Analyst

Roles and Responsibilities

• Initiate and manage to completion change control documents associated with second supplier qualification, market launches, first-lot-to-stock and label changes.
• Collect and analyze data from purchasing, production planning and material planning to support metric development, performance management and reporting, as well as continuous improvement activities.

Scope of work: "ONSITE POSITION"

• Analyzes non-routine information or data to support Supply Chain activities, such as inventory levels, material deliveries, and planned master production schedule orders.
• Participates in the planning and controls of materials and finished goods to meet sales and distribution demand. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to assist with decision making.
• Analyzes data from Rapid Response and various business systems and identifies opportunities for improvements as well as relational supply risks based on short term execution and long-term project plan.
• Reviews inventory reports for quantity, lot status, expiration dates and rebalances inventory as required.
• Investigates and resolves execution, planning and scheduling issues and discrepancies in timely manner.
• Develops and manages change control tasks and records to support supply chain changes, new product introductions and/or new market introductions, through implementation and closure.
• Tracks and reports project metrics to cross-functional project teams.
• Assesses projects for gaps and improvement opportunities and works with stakeholders in delivering appropriate solutions.
• Tracks and provides updates on the assignments.
• Completes tasks and assignments on a timely manner, including any documentations associated with the tasks.
• Creates, maintains and improves service key performance metrics. KPI’s may include on time training completion, on time project/task/assignment completion, cycle time of tasks, right first-time deliverable performance.
• Facilitate cross-functional discussions and collaborations in meeting settings, including follow-up on task completions.
• Partners with global supply chain and other site functions in task execution coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or a related field from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license.

• Perform technical analysis related to non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) such as delineation, stability, recoverability, and natural source zone depletion (NSZD) evaluations.
• Perform similar technical analysis for other contaminants and phases, e.g., petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, metals, and PFAS.
• Prepare conceptual site models (CSMs).
• Prepare and review plans, reports and technical presentations for delivery to clients and regulators.
• Perform and/or manage on-site field staff during the implementation of investigation and design projects.
• Develop and task manage project plans, work scopes, schedules, and budgets with associated tracking and organizational tools.

The newly formed Department of Statistics is part of the Baskin School of Engineering. The department has been established by the statistics group of the former Applied Mathematics and Statistics Department. The group has been present on campus since 2000, and has built a stellar reputation for its dynamism and innovation. Our graduate program has a steady throughput of professionals that perform brilliantly in academia, industry and government, and currently has about 40 students. Research and instruction are supported by excellent facilities in the breathtaking environment of our campus. There are strong opportunities to collaborate with colleagues within the department as well as in the other existing programs in the School of Engineering, including Biomolecular Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computational Media, and Applied Mathematics, who work in a collegial and supportive environment. More widely, our campus offers fertile grounds for scientific research in physical, biological and social sciences. Given the proximity of the campus to Silicon Valley, there are multiple opportunities for collaboration with investigators working on cutting edge science and engineering problems in institutions and companies in the area.
