Minimum Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology required or successful completion of military training program for Surgical Technology or Operating Room Specialist.

  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.

  • Current certification required through NBSTSA or NCCT.

  • 5 years of total operating room experience in surgical technologist role required; 2 years of specialized training in one of the following areas, neurosurgery, and spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, complex ortho, and robotics required.

  • Meets all ST III qualifications of Surgical Tech Ladder.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to age-specific issues and data reflective of the patient's status.

Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily management of assigned patient caseload, ensuring timely care and documentation to meet the patient needs/services as prescribed in the established plan of care and per MD orders.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required. This aligns with current professional entry standards, as the DPT has been the recognized entry-level credential for all new graduates since 2016; prior bachelor's or master's-level degrees may be accepted only where consistent with applicable licensure requirements. Maintains continuing education requirements as mandated by applicable state professional standards.

Certification / Registration / License

Physical Therapy License in the State of applicable state or South Carolina must be licensed in the state upon which you work. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.

Current state driver's license and auto insurance at all times. Personal vehicles must be well maintained and in safe driving conditions.

  • Schedule: Main need is for Weekend Call Coverage 8a-8a, however potential for Day Coverage 9a-5:30p + weeknight call of 5:30p-9a
  • Call Back %: 30
  • Average Call Numbers per 24hrs: 3-5 Phone Consults, 0-5 Patients seen
  • Cases: 15-18 patient encounters per shift
  • Support staff: 4 RNs
  • Requirements: Active NM License, and BLS
  • Credentialing Timeframe: 30 days
