6C Neuro Stroke Center- is a unit that specializes in stroke care, neurological care, neurosurgery, and care of the acutely ill medical patient. Our top 5 common diagnoses are: strokes, seizures, lumbar laminectomies, spinal cord injuries, and brain tumors. 6C also has two continuous seizure monitoring rooms to help tailor treatment specific to each individual need. Our work spans across the multidisciplinary team, and we work hand and hand to provide excellent care to our stroke patients.

 

 Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.

The Medical Surgical unit at Mercy Rogers is a 48 bed unit that manages acute medical surgical patients with a wide range of diagnoses and care needs.  Functionally, this unit houses and cares for patients who are preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions. This can include care of patients with illnesses such as pneumonia and sepsis; as well as pre and post op management of pain, wound care, and monitoring for any complications post procedure.

The Med-Surg unit also manages chronic conditions such as diabetes, COPD, and chronic kidney disease.  Service lines include oncology, nephrology, urology, gastroenterology, and many more.

Given the generalized nature of the Med-Surg unit and the amount of variation in patient conditions, the acuity of patients vary.

• Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing required
• Licensure: Current licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support Certification through an American Heart Association approved program.
• Experience: At leat one-year previous experience in clinical nursing

6B is a fast-paced telemetry unit that provides care for the acutely ill inpatient.  Our number one DRG is sepsis, and we care for patients with respiratory/covid, cardiac issues, renal disease, GI bleeds/complications, and strokes.  6B nurses are trained to monitor high flow oxygen devices such as bipap and airvo and are stroke certified among other advanced skills. 6B staff is engaged in the advancement of the profession of nursing.  We have several co-workers currently working through continuing education/obtaining different degrees.
