Opportunity Overview

The Director, AI Product Manager – AI Platform Strategy is responsible for driving the AI platform vision, strategy, and cross-functional coordination across the AI Platform team acting as the lead for AI vendor engagement. This role establishes and optimizes the platforms, environments, and enabling infrastructure required to develop, deploy, monitor, and scale artificial intelligence solutions. Focuses on creating secure, reliable, interoperable, and reusable foundations for enterprise AI delivery and operations.

Unlike Product Managers within the Digital Product Management organization, this role treats AI itself as the product —owning firmwide, reusable, and scalable AI platform capabilities that power AI builder experiences and AI products rather than discrete applications.

This role centers on strategy, discovery, and value framing, working closely with each Business and Functional area to shape AI direction, identify high‑value opportunities, and expand the art of the possible for how AI can transform their domain. Digital Product Managers will often serve as customers of the AI Product Manager, and leverage AI Products as part of their offerings. Digital Product Managers will remain accountable for the execution, delivery, and lifecycle management of AI capabilities within products and portfolios. The Director, AI Product Manager – AI Platform Strategy partners closely with Digital’s Product Management teams to ensure enterprise AI capabilities can be easily integrated, adopted, and leveraged across the firm.

This role ensures the adoption of responsible AI practices and compliance with regulatory expectations, while clearly communicating progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders. Working in collaboration with colleagues in EJ Labs, Engineering, Data, Product Management, Experience, and the respective Business and Functional areas, the Director, AI Product Manager – AI Platform Strategy ensures vendor AI platform capabilities deliver measurable value, maintain performance through ongoing monitoring, and support firmwide strategic objectives through shared AI capability development. The role acts as a connector throughout the full product lifecycle—navigating ideation, discovery, delivery, adoption, and iteration.

This position sits within the AI Platform Team inside EJ Labs , focused on building and managing the reusable AI platform and marketplace capabilities that enable teams across the enterprise to discover, govern, scale, and consume AI products through a consistent, standards-based ecosystem, rather than developing one-off or front-end solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Defines the strategic vision, priorities, and roadmap for enterprise AI platform capabilities
  • Identifies and prioritizes high-value platform opportunities based on business value, technical feasibility, reusability, adoption potential, risk, and enterprise alignment.
  • Guides investment, sequencing, build-buy-partner, and vendor decisions for AI platform capabilities.
  • Connects AI platform strategy to business strategy, data strategy, agentic priorities, product strategy, architecture, and innovation goals.
  • Builds alignment across business, technology, engineering, data, product management, experience, risk, security, and governance stakeholders.
  • Shapes strategic narratives and decision materials that clarify trade-offs, outcomes, dependencies, risks, and required investments.
  • Conducts market, user, and technology research to anticipate emerging platform needs and external developments.
  • Defines success measures for platform value, builder experience, reuse, adoption, reliability, interoperability, and risk.
  • Drives adoption of platform capabilities among AI builders, AI product managers, and downstream consumers.
  • Ensures responsible AI, regulatory, security, privacy, and governance requirements are incorporated into platform strategy and lifecycle decisions.
  • Partners with delivery and engineering leaders to translate strategic direction into executable roadmaps and realistic delivery pathways.
  • Blends AI capabilities with human capabilities to strengthen builder productivity, organizational readiness, and sustainable adoption.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, business, strategy, product management or related field.
  • Significant experience in AI strategy, platform strategy, technology strategy, AI product management, business transformation, or enterprise innovation.
  • 7+ years’ experience in product management includes translating business needs into technical requirements and leading product discovery and validation.
  • 3+ years' experience in AI/ML.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and financial services.
  • Product operating model methodologies, including AI driven PDLC.
  • AI technologies and their applications in business contexts.
  • Metrics and frameworks for tracking product AI model and agent success and impact.
  • Responsible AI practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strategic vendor management, platform evaluation, technology partnerships, and enterprise AI platform governance.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, relationship management skills with the ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external technology partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence vendor roadmaps and establish strategic partnerships that support enterprise AI objectives and long‑term AI platform evolution.

What will set you apart:

  • Master’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Product Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in AI product management, with a focus on responsible AI practices and regulatory compliance in a financial services context.
