The Opportunity

  • Improve patient census and billing practice statistics to optimize reimbursement for the practice.
  • Maintain awareness and interactions with payers such as significant IPA’s, Medical Groups, Foundations, ACO’s associated with the hospital / health system.
  • Execute efficient recruitment, onboarding, and training processes for new providers, ensuring the practice is staffed with highly qualified professionals.
  • Provide learning and development opportunities and mentoring to providers and staff to enhance their clinical acumen, leadership skills and overall professional growth.
  • Evaluate the performance of physicians and PA / NPs in compliance with Vituity policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor physician competencies with progressive improvement using appropriate metrics. Counsel, suspend, or remove staff from the schedule as necessary in compliance with Vituity polices / guidelines.
  • Actively participate in contract negotiations in conjunction with the Regional Director.
  • Develop, foster, and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with hospital leadership, nursing staff and other healthcare team members.
  • Ensure practice is appropriately represented and demonstrates their value through leadership roles (as applicable) and/or participation with hospital management, medical staff leadership, Medical Executive, Medical Staff and other hospital committees, and within the local community.

Ambassador Program

As an ambassador you’ll have the opportunity to work in a variety of practice settings while earning premium pay. Vituity has an excellent opportunity for Hospital Medicine Medical Directors to join our ambassador team. Our ambassadors act as support for the emergency staffing needs at our existing sites and new start‑ups.

  • Full‑time ambassadors are guaranteed a minimum of 125 hours per month.
  • All travel, meals, room and board costs are covered.
  • Hospital credentialing fees, applicable state licensing, secondary DEA cost and required certifications for the site will be covered.
  • Seeking Board Eligible/Certified Hospital Medicine Physicians.
  • As the role of the Vituity Ambassador requires the ability to obtain temporary privileges at our client hospitals, all Ambassador candidates must have a clean professional record regarding standard hospital attestation questions (not including malpractice cases).

Role Overview

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Level II provides professional, competent anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients, from pediatric to geriatric, requiring surgical, obstetrical, and other anesthesia services. A team member that primarily works at a Tertiary Medical Center with Multispecialty Trauma Services & multiple NORA (Non-operating room anesthesia) sites and does not participate in at least one Anesthesia Specialty such as Complex NORA (includes EP/Cath Lab/all Radiology), Cardiac, Neuro, Neonatal. Takes “Call from Home” as part of the facility scheduling model (call exemption is subject to leader discretion) and will float to other facilities as needed due to staffing needs. All team members will practice within the full scope of their CRNA privileges.

What We're Looking For

Education and Certification

  • BSN, MSN, DNP, and/or graduate diploma level certification required. Graduate from both an Accredited School of Nursing and School of Nurse Anesthesia.
  • Certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA) as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and recognized by the state of practice as a CRNA.
  • Must meet minimum continuing education requirements every four years of the NBCRNA.

Experience and Orientation

  • Previous experience is not necessary. Four to six week orientation period for new graduates (working with preceptor) is required.
  • Orientation period for experienced providers will depend on previous experience and clinical skills.

Licensure and Certification

  • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
  • Current CRNA endorsement in appropriate state, required.
  • NBCRNA certification, required.
  • ACLS certification within NH policy, required.
  • BLS certification within NH policy, required.
  • PALS certification within NH policy, required.

Additional Skills Required

  • Complete all required paperwork before the study is performed, including consent, relevant patient history, questionnaires, etc. Clarify unclear or inappropriate orders. Complete billing information upon completion of procedure.
  • Independently prepare equipment for monitoring by performing necessary calibrations, selecting filter settings, determining appropriate monitoring montage, and entering required patient information.
  • Provide CPAP training by utilizing appropriate patient education materials.
  • Prepare patients for the study by accurately placing recording devices required for the procedure. Utilize International 10‑20 system for EEG electrode placement.
  • Record the study by entering appropriate notations and clinical observations into the computer system and on the technician worksheet.
  • Identify abnormalities such as apneas, PLMs, and other sleep disturbances. Seek assistance to adjust recording technique to best enhance and provide a clearly interpretable record.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to medical problems and physiological events, especially cardiac dysrhythmias, respiratory events and seizures.
  • Recognize technically inadequate signals and initiate troubleshooting techniques. Obtain additional assistance as needed. Document barriers to resolution.
  • Maintain monitoring equipment in clean and organized condition.
  • Participate in departmental in‑services and continuing education.
  • Encourage teamwork through interdepartmental communication and constructive problem resolution.
  • Provide training for new Sleep Technicians and student preceptors.
  • Score sleep records according to department guidelines.
  • Maintain registration in good standing by completing the necessary CEU requirements (10 CMEs or equivalent per year) as established by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Additional Functions

  • Participate in storage and archiving of records.
  • Participate in departmental in‑services, monthly staff meetings, and continuing education.
  • Monitor supply inventory and notify designated individuals in case of shortage.
  • Assist in report typing, distribution, filing, and record storage duties as needed.
  • Provide consistent feedback and suggestions for improvement to Resource Coordinator and/or Manager.
  • Provide written and/or verbal feedback to Resource Coordinator on Sleep Technician and/or student preceptor’s performance.
  • Provide testing information, reassures, and relaxes patients (as appropriate), and prepares patients for their procedure. Provides assistance to older adults as needed through assessment of impairments that affect testing procedures.
  • Provides basic personal hygiene assistance to any patients as needed.
  • Requires interaction with patients of all ages (pediatric, adult and geriatric).

Qualifications

Required
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Respiratory Care Technologist (RRT).
  • Certified in basic cardiac life support (BCLS).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the International 10‑20 system of electrode placement.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or additional training in electroneurodiagnostics, anatomy, or successful completion of certification in allied health school.
  • Prior sleep tech experience, ideally at a facility accredited by the AASM.

Position Summary
The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) II will perform research activities using approved techniques. The CRC procures, processes and ships research specimens and conducts patient recruitment, administers questionnaires, abstracts medical records, maintains patient databases, enters data into sponsor-specific electronic data capture forms, performs administrative tasks, assists in grant preparation, and participates with the research team in preparation of data and other reports. Will also assist with audits and quality improvement projects.
Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and tracking the eligibility of all patients seen in the clinic.
  • Obtaining informed consent (for non-treatment studies) and registering patients to cohort studies and other protocols.
  • Reviewing and abstracting the medical records for patients, including review of pathology reports.
  • Accessing patient demographic and clinical information from the clinical systems.
  • Entering information into the appropriate EMR and eCRF systems and departmental systems in an accurate manner.
  • Reviewing data for quality and completeness based on established queries.
  • Assists with the coordination of the collection, processing, organization, and storage of biological specimens in the systems
  • May be responsible for IRB and regulatory submissions and maintenance of regulatory files
  • Maintaining on-going communications with research managers and PIs for data collection needs.

Job Opportunity

Job Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tests across all areas of the Clinical Laboratory, including but not limited to:

Key Accountabilities
Hematology and Chemistry
  • Perform diagnostic procedures accurately and reliably.
  • Prepare reagents, controls, and standards for testing.
  • Review and report test results within required turnaround times.
  • Evaluate quality control daily and address shifts/trends.
  • Maintain automated instrumentation and perform troubleshooting.
  • Maintain supply and reagent inventory.
  • Operate computer terminals and instrument interfaces.
  • Assist medical, nursing, and laboratory staff with test-related queries.
  • Comply with safety and biohazardous precautions.
Blood Bank
  • Perform ABO/Rh typing and crossmatching of blood.
  • Prepare blood components and perform prenatal testing.
  • Identify antibodies using routine and special techniques.
  • Conduct transfusion reaction workups and equipment quality control.
  • Participate in CAP surveys and maintain stock of supplies.
  • Perform clerical duties and problem-solving with minimal assistance.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of work and reported results.
Microbiology
  • Perform enzyme immunoassay tests, gram stains, malaria tests, wet mounts, and culture setups.
  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and test analysis.
  • Maintain records of proficiency testing and adhere to QC policies.
  • Identify and correct problems affecting test performance.
Education and Experience
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. Candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience.
  • One year internship in an approved Clinical Laboratory Scientist Program leading to licensure by the State of California.
  • CLIA-specific qualifications for high complexity testing.

What You’ll Need For This Job
