Are you a stellar senior account director?

Careers

We’re a small (but mighty) global creative agency with roots in Stockholm and a heart in San Francisco – think Scandinavian minimalism meets West Coast quirkiness. We help B2B and tech companies transform into brave brands through strategy, design, campaigns, events, and digital experiences.

We’re a tight-knit team that believes great work comes from collaboration, curiosity, and a healthy dose of “fika” (look it up). We value a strong culture, a well-stocked snack cabinet, creative thinking, and work-life balance. Pups are welcome in the office every day, and on Thursdays, we have team lunch and hold a weekly creative inspo session. Every year, we all get together for a global retreat – we are 2 offices but one company.

Role Overview

The Senior Account Director is a commercial and strategic senior-level role with full P&L responsibility for a client portfolio. You own the multi-year growth of our B2B tech clients, lead C-level relationships, and are responsible for a high-performing cross-functional team. Client Relationships & Business Development

  • Build and maintain long-term, trust-based client relationships and be their go-to advisor in marketing and communications.
  • Understand each client’s business, brand, customers, competitors, and market—and act as a strategic partner and advisor.
  • Identify and develop new needs, business opportunities, and growth potential, including upselling.
  • Lead pitch meetings, proposals, and new business initiatives.
  • Responsible for budget, profitability, and business goals for client accounts.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels within the client organization, from marketing assistants to CEOs.

Strategic Planning & Advisory

  • Oversee and refine strategies so all deliverables are on-brand and in line with overarching brand guidelines.

  • Maintain detailed documentation, timelines, and deliverable tracking.
  • Manage workflows in internal project management systems, prioritize tasks and dependencies, and keep projects on time and within budget.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the SVP of Dealer Sales, the Sales Operations Director leads the operational backbone of the Dealer Sales and Performance Management teams. In this role, you will own sales operations, dealer onboarding, and process management, while also driving the programs that keep the dealer sales team engaged, motivated, and focused on the right priorities.

The Sales Operations Director is the connective tissue between HQ and the field: every initiative moving from HQ to the field runs through Sales Operations first, and you will be accountable for making sure it lands accurately, on time, and in a way the field can act on. Beyond the process, the Director will lead dealer marketing efforts, build and run the dealer rewards program, stand up and operate the President's Award recognition program, and set the quarterly objectives and KPIs the team is measured against, including all related tracking and reporting.

Serving as the right hand to the SVP of Dealer Sales, you will establish credibility with the field and champion dealer sales and performance management initiatives across the Company. Starting as a one-person function, the Director will build out a team to support program tracking, reporting, and execution across all initiatives.

The ideal candidate for this role will be located in the greater Los Angeles, CA, or Austin, TX, areas.

How you’ll drive TRUECar’s success:

  • Own and manage all programs and initiatives supporting the Dealer Sales and Performance Management team end-to-end, from design through rollout, adoption, and ongoing optimization.
  • Lead dealer marketing efforts that support sales, engagement, and retention objectives, partnering with Marketing and field leadership on content, campaigns, and communications.
  • Develop and execute a Dealer Rewards Program that drives desired dealer behaviors and reinforces performance goals, including program design, budget, communication, and results measurement.
  • Develop and execute a President's Award recognition program honoring top performers across the Dealer Sales and Performance Management team, including nomination criteria, selection process, and the recognition experience.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of these programs — planning, launch, in-market execution, and post-program review — ensuring each ties back to broader sales and business objectives.
  • Stand up and lead a Dealer Advisory Board, identifying key, engaged TRUECar dealers willing to meet quarterly to provide feedback on current products and what's working versus what isn't, and to review and weigh in on future products before and during development.
  • Own all communication, outreach, and relationship management with Dealer Advisory Board members, along with meeting coordination and scheduling.

Goal Setting, KPIs, & Reporting

  • Lead the development of quarterly objectives and KPIs for the Dealer Sales and Performance Management team, in coordination with Finance, HR, and the SVP of Dealer Sales.
  • Own tracking and reporting against those objectives and KPIs, delivering regular, accurate performance visibility to leadership and the field.
  • Oversee the building of reporting tools and dashboards that make performance data accessible and actionable for both HQ and field teams.
  • Use performance data to identify trends, flag risks early, and recommend adjustments to programs, processes, or goals.

Processes

  • Oversee, streamline, and continually develop operational sales processes across the Dealer Sales and Performance Management teams.
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding experience, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and within timeframes set by company goals.
  • Create, optimize, and maintain standard operating procedures and set clear expectations across functional teams (Business Development, Account Managers) for executing every aspect of the onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Ensure the new account hand-off process to the appropriate service team is as efficient as possible.
  • Project-manage group-level implementation initiatives for Dealer Strategic and National Accounts in coordination with appropriate Field Directors.
  • Represent the Dealer Sales and Performance Management team professionally and effectively, both internally and externally.

Your Expertise

  • 5+ years leading and developing a Sales Operations team.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, coach individuals, and continuously improve business processes.
  • Track record of designing and running incentive, rewards, or recognition programs.
  • Skilled at setting measurable goals and building the reporting to track them.
  • Ability to maintain steady morale and high, achievable expectations among direct reports.
  • A promoter of optimism who is fully team-oriented, with a track record of working well across a diverse group of people.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical acumen with proven troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable operating independently as well as in a team-based environment.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Regularly and autonomously engages in problem-solving.
  • Work with a sense of urgency to set and achieve quarterly goals while maintaining accuracy on assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work in-office per Company workplace policy.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically by car or airplane up to 10% of the time.

Desired Skills

  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Direct experience calling on dealers, with fluency in dealer business and dealer lingo.
  • Experience on both sides of the business — field-facing dealer work and HQ process management — enabling this person to serve as the true bridge between HQ and the field.

ABOUT US

The Urban Assembly (UA) is a non‑profit that promotes social and economic mobility by innovating in public education, both in its 22 New York City schools and in the solutions it offers to school districts nationwide. The Urban Assembly founded more than 20 small, career‑themed high schools in New York City since 1997, pioneering career‑connected education. Its school design and support enabled the Urban Assembly to develop high‑impact learning solutions for schools and districts nationwide.

Under the mission of advancing students’ social and economic mobility by improving public education, the Urban Assembly partners with schools and districts to design and scale solutions that improve social‑emotional learning, post‑secondary readiness and success, and instructional quality. The UA values the uniqueness of every student, and our work honors the various social and cultural contexts from which they come. We acknowledge the historical barriers created by education systems to perpetuate the social inequities that keep students of color from accessing postsecondary and career opportunities - and commit to dismantling these barriers.

ABOUT THE JOB

Reporting to the Managing Director of Program, the Director of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is responsible for the strategic leadership, execution, growth, and continuous improvement of Urban Assembly's SEL portfolio. This role leads the design and delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based SELprogramming that improves educator practice, student outcomes, and school culture through disciplined implementation, organizational capacity building, and performance management. Working collaboratively across partners and internal teams, the Director develops scalable systems, strengthens strategic partnerships, advances organizational learning, and generates field‑shaping insights that position Urban Assembly as a national leader in social and emotional learning.

The key responsibilities include:

Program Strategy & Execution (30%)

Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of Urban Assembly's SEL portfolio to achieve measurable implementation, educator, and student outcomes through disciplined strategy, execution, and performance management.

Success in this area includes:

  • Achieve ambitious program outcomes by establishing a culture of execution that defines clear implementation expectations, monitors leading indicators of success, addresses performance gaps in real time, and ensures accountability for achieving measurable implementation, educator, and student outcomes.
  • Design and continuously improve the implementation system by developing and refining implementation frameworks, coaching models, operational routines, performance dashboards, implementation resources, and organizational infrastructure that enable high‑quality, scalable, and sustainable program delivery.
  • Build the capacity of educators and school leaders to implement and sustain high‑quality, evidence‑based SEL practices through coaching, professional learning, technical assistance, and implementation support.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative evidence to drive strategic decision‑making by identifying root causes, evaluating implementation effectiveness, assessing emerging needs, and translating findings into improvements in program design, implementation strategy, products, and service delivery.
  • Cultivate a learning network that identifies, validates, and disseminates effective implementation practices across Urban Assembly partners while ensuring the SEL portfolio remains aligned with organizational priorities and integrated within broader instructional, postsecondary, and Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) initiatives.

Strategic Growth and Portfolio Leadership (35%)

The Director is accountable for the long‑term growth, sustainability, and national expansion of the SEL portfolio by increasing its reach, strengthening its financial sustainability, and building strategic partnerships that advance Urban Assembly's mission.

  • Expand the reach and impact of the SEL portfolio by securing new district, state, and national partnerships that increase the number of schools, educators, and students served.
  • Generate sustainable revenue by securing new grants, contracts, and fee‑for‑service opportunities that contribute at least 10% of the program's annual budget.
  • Maintain a high‑performing partner portfolio by achieving an annual contract renewal and retention rate of at least 85% through strong implementation, relationship management, and demonstrated impact.
  • Develop scalable solutions that extend the reach of the SEL portfolio beyond direct service through products, tools, implementation playbooks, digital platforms, and professional learning models.
  • Represent Urban Assembly as a national thought leader by facilitating contributions to conference presentations, publications, strategic partnerships, and other opportunities that increase awareness, demand, and adoption of UA's SEL solutions.
  • Build and steward a strategic growth pipeline by identifying, cultivating, and advancing opportunities that strengthen the long‑term reach and sustainability of the portfolio.

  • Develop Urban Assembly's organizational knowledge base by translating implementation findings into frameworks, tools, implementation guidance, and best practices that improve program quality across the organization.
  • Contribute to the broader field of SEL by disseminating evidence, implementation insights, and practitioner guidance through publications, conference presentations, and strategic partnerships.
  • Shape future program strategy by using implementation and outcome evidence to identify emerging opportunities for innovation, research, and continuous improvement.

Research & Education Sales Lead, Beneficial Deployments
WinsAbove
san francisco, ca
Compensation: 380.000 - 450.000

About Anthropic

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

About the role

Anthropic's Beneficial Deployments team accelerates the work of organizations doing some of the world's most important under resourced work: nonprofits, education institutions, scientific researchers, and organizations advancing economic mobility. Education institutions sit at the center of that mission. They train the next generation, they produce the science the rest of the world builds on, and they are structurally short on time, budget, and technical capacity to figure out new technology on their own.

You will lead our targeted approach to higher education, with a specific focus on research institutes and research intensive universities. You will also support K12 staff and educators across the globe, in particular in low and middle income countries, where teachers and school staff are the users and the district is often the buyer. Where our scaled motion reaches thousands of organizations one to many, this role is the opposite end of the same ecosystem: a deliberately short list of institutions where depth matters, where a lab, a department, or a whole campus adopting Claude changes what science gets done, and where the buying process runs through provosts, research offices, district superintendents, procurement, grant budgets, and security review.

Reach comes first, and commercial results follow from it. That ordering is deliberate and it is shared across every leader on this team: a research institute that adopts Claude to move its science faster is a win on its own terms, and you will be measured on creating that value with the institutions that matter most, not only on pipeline. You are the single accountable owner for the research and education Enterprise book globally: its target list, its AEs, its numbers, and its field voice inside Anthropic.

You are half seller, half domain translator. You will personally run the most complex institutional deals, and you will be credible in a room of scientists and educators. You know how research is funded, how a university decides, and what it takes for an education sales motion to land in a software company. You will bring that knowledge to the product, applied AI, and marketing teams who build for this audience.

This is a player coach seat. You will be directly involved in deals and directing the account executives who cover education today, and the role is expected to grow thoughtfully with more AEs in key regions globally.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-design research and education strategy: the target list of research institutes and research intensive universities, support for K12 staff and educators
  • Serve as the lead on our most complex institutional deals — setting the pursuit strategy, opening doors with lab and research-office leadership, and personally resolving the toughest hurdles: procurement, security review, and grant-funded budgets.
  • Direct and coach the account executives working education accounts today: joint account plans, deal reviews, and a repeatable motion for landing a university and expanding within it.
  • Build the institutional playbook: how a research institute goes from a pilot in one lab to a working deployment across a department, what good adoption looks like, and when to bring in applied AI, customer success, or partners.
  • Own the book's numbers, institutions reached, activated, and expanded against goals, and use them to decide where the effort goes next.
  • Be the research and education field voice inside Anthropic: bring deployment learnings, unmet needs, and the realities of academic buying to the product teams that own the roadmap for this audience.
  • Work in lockstep with our PLG 1:many motion, so that an institution moves cleanly between scaled programs and direct coverage in both directions.

Minimum qualifications

  • Education or research sales. You have sold software as a service into universities, research institutes, or academic medical centers, and you have personally closed complex institutional agreements involving procurement, security review, and multiple decision makers.
  • Science background. You have trained or worked in a scientific field, or spent a meaningful part of your career selling to or building for scientists, and you can hold a credible conversation with a principal investigator about their research.
  • Sales leadership. You have led a sales business end to end and been the accountable owner for its results, whether as a team lead, a player coach, or the sole owner of a strategic book.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with research funding: grants, indirect costs, and how a fixed annual budget shapes what an institution can buy.
  • Track record landing an institution wide agreement at a research intensive university, and expanding from a single department to a campus or system.
  • Familiarity with how AI is already used in research settings and K12 classrooms, and a point of view on where it should go next.
  • Experience working with academic consortia, national labs, or research networks.
  • An impact, education, research, or mission driven go to market background, and genuine interest in these institutions' constraints.
  • A daily working habit with Claude, and agentic workflows you have built for yourself.

Annual compensation range for this role is listed below.

For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.

Annual Salary: $380,000 — $450,000 USD

Logistics

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience

Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience

Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.

Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings.

How we're different

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Come work with us!

Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
