Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate equipment and chart information. Sitting for up to 5 hours in 30-minute increments. Standing and walking for up to 3 hours in 15-minute increments. Pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients up to 300 pounds with assistance. Occasional stooping, lifting, and raising arms above shoulder level. Lifting and moving of objects up to 30 pounds. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision.

EDUCATION:

Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program, or AART registered. Advanced registry in CT required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

One-year staff technologist experience. Recent CT Scan experience preferred. Advanced CT registry required within one year of hire. Current CPR certification required before completion of orientation. History of computer usage experience required.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position in the Records Division of the Assessor's office is responsible for ensuring that documents, filings, correspondence and other paperwork are managed and retained in accordance with both state and federal statutes. Job duties include responding to Freedom of Information Act requests in accordance with the law, managing, routing and preserving incoming legal filings, incoming applications, incoming and outgoing correspondence, outgoing notices and filings, and documents generated internally.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of state assessment and ad valorem taxation laws is highly preferred as is prior experience in an Assessor's, Auditor's, or Treasurer's office.

The successful candidate must be able to deal professionally and effectively with taxpayers, the public, and other government agencies at the County, Municipal, and State level over the phone, in person, and through electronic transmissions. The successful candidate must have substantial experience with a variety of computer software applications including EXCEL and WORD, must demonstrate that they are able to learn new software applications easily, and be capable of entering data and typing communications accurately and rapidly. The position requires research, analysis and organizational skills along with ability to prioritize varying job duties.

The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and in a team environment cooperating with others in the work unit and with other Divisions and work units in the Assessor's office and other offices. Experience or training in records management, records retention or archives is highly preferred. Some overtime may be required, including some work on weekends.

WHAT YOU'LL DO*

  • Be the first warm welcome and a steady support, triaging incoming patients and helping guide them toward care

  • Learn how to perform CPR and become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (training provided!)

WHAT YOU NEED

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus
  • 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus!)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Credentialing Specialist to support the verification, enrollment, and ongoing compliance of healthcare providers. This role is critical to ensuring providers are properly credentialed, appointed, and privileged with payers, hospitals, and patient care facilities, enabling timely reimbursement and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with provider credentialing and re-credentialing, primary source verification (PSV), and managing provider data across multiple systems in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Provider Credentialing & Enrollment

  • Collect, review, and process initial and re-credentialing applications for healthcare providers.
  • Ensure applications are complete, accurate, and submitted within required payer and regulatory timelines.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for providers regarding credentialing requirements, status updates, and follow-up items.
  • Track application progress and proactively follow up with providers, payers, hospitals, and facilities.

Primary Source Verification (PSV)

  • Perform and document primary source verification for provider credentials, including:
    • State professional licenses
    • DEA registrations
    • Board certifications
    • Education and training
    • Work history
    • Sanctions and exclusions (OIG, SAM, NPDB, CMS Preclusion List, etc.)
  • Ensure all verification activities meet federal, state, payer, and accreditation standards.

Credentialing, Appointment & Privileging

  • Complete credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging processes to ensure providers are credentialed and appointed with:
    • Health plans and payers
    • Hospitals and health systems
    • Patient care facilities and networks
  • Prepare credentialing files for review by Credentialing Committees, as applicable.
  • Issue approval, denial, or deficiency communications in accordance with established policies.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, payer requirements, and accreditation standards (e.g., NCQA, CMS).
  • Maintain knowledge of current health plan and agency credentialing requirements.
  • Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and delegated credentialing agreements.

 

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider records in credentialing databases and online systems.

Documentation & File Maintenance
