Service Manager | New Honda Dealership Opening - January (2027)
Carter Myers Automotive
Lexington Park, MD

Job Description

Job Description
Description:

Service Manager – New Honda Store Opening | Lexington Park, MD

$150,000–$200,000+ Earning Potential · Relocation Assistance · Employee-Owned

Hire your own team. Build your own process. Open your own store.

We're opening a brand-new Honda dealership in Lexington Park in January 2027, and we're hiring the Service Manager who will build the department from nothing.

That means you're not inheriting anyone's advisors, anyone's shop culture, or anyone's CSI problem. You'll [hire your own technicians and advisors / help select your team], set the process, and open the doors with a department you built. Most service managers spend their careers working around decisions someone else made years ago. This is the other thing.

Why Carter Myers

We're employee-owned, 29 stores, 1,300 associates, family-run since 1924. Through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan, every associate earns shares at no cost to them. At this level that matters more than it sounds — the store you build compounds directly into an account with your name on it, alongside your 401(k). Almost no dealership group in the country does this.

We're also closed on Sundays. Not as a perk bullet — because we mean it.

Compensation

$150,000–$200,000+ annual earning potential, based on experience and performance.

Because this is a new store, [describe the ramp guarantee — e.g. "we provide a guaranteed salary through the first 18 months while volume builds, so your income isn't tied to a service drive that doesn't exist yet"].

Relocation assistance is available for this role.

Full benefits: medical, dental, and vision; 401(k) with company support; generous paid time off; ESOP participation; employee discounts. We'd love to talk more about the full compensation and benefits picture.

Requirements:

What you'll actually be doing

Before we open: hiring and onboarding your technicians and service advisors, building shop process and workflow from scratch, standing up CDK, coordinating with Honda on certification and standards, and setting up the department for day one.

Once we're open: running staffing, production, and profitability; developing your advisors and techs; owning CSI and retention; and managing the KPIs that matter — RO count, labor hours, efficiency, effective labor rate.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 3+ years of Service Manager or Fixed Ops leadership experience
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Proven track record of driving performance and results

Preferred:

  • Honda or import dealership experience
  • CDK or similar DMS experience
  • Strong understanding of fixed operations KPIs

Where this goes

This is a ladder, not a job. We operate 29 stores across 19 brands in Virginia and beyond, and we promote from inside — Fixed Operations Director, multi-store leadership, and General Manager are all real paths here, and people currently in those seats came up through them. A single-point store can't offer that. We can.
