WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): 

This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

The candidate must reside no more than 45 minutes from the Houston TX chapter.

Under general supervision, perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically perform work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.  Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.  Use hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment.  Use blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.  Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities): 

1. Maintain and repair organization's facilities and properties involving routine tasks and responsibilities. Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.  Repair or replace concrete floors, steps and sidewalks.  Paint structures and equipment as needed.  Install and correct minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural problems.  Document installation and repairs as required by regulatory agencies.  Install, operate and service boilers, chillers, motors, fans, pumps and related mechanical equipment.

2. May move and store furniture and equipment.

3. Estimate time and material costs of various projects. Requisition new supplies and equipment.

4. May plant and tend flowerbeds. Prune shrubs and trees to enhance growth and appearance, water lawns, shrubs and flowerbeds and spray fertilizer and insecticides. May rake and remove fallen leaves, sweep external walkways and staircases and may remove snow using power removal equipment or shovel. Apply snow-melting chemical when necessary on company roads, walkways and outside staircases.

5. Will drive vehicle to other locations.

6. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications): 

Education: High School or equivalent required. May require a trade license.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Related experience includes skill and knowledge of painting, HVAC, carpentry, pluming, masonry and electrical work is required.

Management Experience: N/A

Skills & Abilities: Previous truck and/or bus driving experience is desirable. May be required to have basic computer skills. Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills. Skills and knowledge of painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and electrical work is required. May have on-call duties. Ability to work on a team. A current valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.

Travel: Will drive vehicle to other locations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete disassembly of vehicle to assist Collision Estimators in assessing damage to prepare a 100% Repair Plan
  • Ensure all needed repairs identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time
  • Plan work procedure: follow work order for all operations listed
  • Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic windows, and seat operating equipment to gain access to damaged area of vehicle if needed.  Store parts on carts or cover to eliminate potential damage
  • Mend damaged body by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts; ensure all gaps and fits are to industry standards; remove damaged panels and bolts or welds replacement parts in position and reassemble after parts are painted
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.)
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces before turning vehicle over to the Paint Dept.
  • Repair or replace defective parts
  • Ensure all needed repairs identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time
  • Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to check for compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 
  • Comply with all Classic Collision standard operating procedures, safety, rules, and guidelines

 

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • I-CAR / ASE certifications preferred 
  • 2-3 years’ collision repair experience preferred
  • Valid Driver's License Required
  • Customer-focused attitude with the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
  • Successful completion of background check required

  • Prepare food items such as our delicious breakfast items, built-to-order sandwiches, specialty beverages, and pizzas as well as keeping our coffee station clean and organized. 

  • Operate the cash register, handle payments, activate fuel and gift cards, as well as assist with lottery and ID verification for age-restricted products.

  • Ensure our stores are well-stocked and that our shelves remain fresh, full, and inviting.

  • Help keep our stores clean and safe by following all established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Complete store housekeeping duties including cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, and more.

Qualifications:

  • Great communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multitask like a pro.

  • Must be 16+ years old with reliable transportation.

  • Enjoy working in a team environment.

The hourly range for this position is $16.50 - $20.25 and is commensurate with position, experience, and location. Associates in this position will receive a $1.50 shift differential for hours worked between 12am - 6am.
