What You'll Be Doing

  • Conduct video-based appointments for non-emergency issues.
  • Treat patients in internal medicine and related areas such as urgent care, gynecology, and obesity care.

Who You Are

  • Two years of pediatric nursing experience or related experience with children or work experience.
  • Three years or more of nursing experience. Experience in emergency nursing preferred.
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations.
  • The ability to effectively work in a developmentally appropriate way with children ages 7-16.
  • Must be certified in CPR and maintain the certification throughout employment.
  • Must have and maintain Wilderness First Aid training.
  • Must maintain a driver’s license free from substance related infractions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Training:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of accredited residency training

Licensure & Certification:

  • Prepare and analyze denial metrics and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Provide feedback to system IPAS regarding denial trends, opportunities for improvement, and payor practices.
  • Report out metrics and initiatives at Medical Executive and Executive Leadership meetings as requested.
  • Assist the manager of CDRU, UM Director, and Director of Payor Audit with preparation of case escalations for payer negotiations.
  • Assist the CDRU RN staff with medical necessity appeals for complex medical cases.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, initiatives, and expectations as set by payers and CMS.
  • Collaborate with accountable leaders to develop processes that ensure consistent feedback for all involved care providers regarding specific denial mitigation strategies and performance results.

Education/Experience Required

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school, completion of a three (3) year U.S. residency program, and board certified in their specialty.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of clinical practice as a physician.
  • Previous performance-based leadership experience preferred.

About the Role

  • Setting: 100% Remote | California-based outpatient clinic - CMHC
  • Schedule: 16 hrs/wk | Wednesdays & Fridays | PST hours
  • Patient Population: Ages 12+ with moderate acuity and diagnoses including SUD, MAT, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, and dual diagnoses
  • Appointment Times: 60 mins for initial visits, 30 mins for follow-ups. 30 mins of administrative time daily
  • No On-Call Required: Enjoy work-life balance with a schedule that fits your needs
  • Support: Dedicated support staff to assist with refills, paperwork, phone calls, etc.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a 4-year ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency
  • Active California medical license required
  • Availability for 16 hours per week during PST hours
  • Experience and comfort treating patients ages 12+
  • Telehealth experience preferred (experience using SmartCare a plus!)
  • Must reside in the U.S. or a U.S. territory

    • b - Is an active member of SSH and Emergency Services committees and task forces.
  • 5 - Plays an active role in the education and continuing education of the SSH Emergency Services staff, including the paramedics.
