Position Summary

  • Performs direct patient care tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse and performs various tasks as competency documentation designates. Position provides direct patient care limited to non‑invasive procedures, unless specifically certified in phlebotomy.

Statement of Work

The Contractor shall provide the Contractor Personnel Services and staff, and otherwise do all things necessary for or incidental to the performance of Contractor's Services, as set forth below:

A. Optometry Services

The Contractor shall perform Services within the practice area of Optometry, including, but not limited to, the following optometry services:

  • Primary vision care
  • Examination of Patients' eyes to diagnose vision problems and eye diseases
  • Tests of Patients' visual acuity, depth, and color perception, and ability to focus and coordinate the eyes
  • Vision therapy and low-vision rehabilitation
  • Analysis of test results and development of a treatment plan
  • Administration of drugs to Patients to aid in the diagnosis of vision problems and prescribing of drugs to treat some eye diseases

  • Provision of preoperative and post-operative care to cataract Patients

B. Contractor Responsibilities

1. The Contractor shall conduct up to one (1) Optometry Clinic per month at the East Campus Clinic. The Contractor may change Clinic schedule as agreed upon by both parties. WSH may add additional Clinic hours as agreed upon by the Contractor. Each Clinic shall last no longer than five (5) consecutive hours. The Contractor shall schedule Clinics at least one (1) month in advance with the East Campus Clinic nurse. WSH shall schedule Patient appointments with Contractor for each Clinic.

c. Specific Contractor Qualifications and Licensing Requirements

The Contractor shall hold a Doctorate of Optometry from an accredited Optometry school. The Contractor shall be licensed as an Optometrist in the State of Washington, pursuant to Chapter 18.53 RCW - Optometry, 18.54 RCW Optometry Board and Chapter 246-851 WAC Optometrist Rules.

Department
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Orthopaedics located in Columbus, Ohio is currently recruiting an experienced, clinical and surgical podiatrist. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
Position Overview
We are looking for a provider to assist with inpatient management of consults and performing inpatient surgery, participate in call, seeing patients in outpatient clinics, and performing foot surgery. This position will not involve performing reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. Our board-certified podiatric foot and ankle specialists and clinical care team provide personalized treatment for foot and ankle disorders, infection, trauma, deformities, diseases and conditions with inpatient and outpatient care. In addition to patient care, the position also provides teaching and research opportunities.

The Department of Orthopaedics’ mission is to be the musculoskeletal provider and partner of choice in the state, employing an integrated, multidisciplinary approach that is unique to Ohio State, while simultaneously driving programs and discovery that have global impact through research and education. We are home to a distinct team of orthopedic experts. Our department is comprised of several subspecialty divisions, including foot and ankle, general orthopedics, hand and upper extremity, joint reconstruction, musculoskeletal oncology, orthopedic trauma, podiatry, spine surgery, and sports medicine.
The Department of Orthopaedics at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center operates across multiple locations, including the University Hospital, OSU East Hospital, and over 6 ambulatory care location across Central Ohio. We completed over 13,000 surgical cases in fiscal year 2025. We have over 50 surgical providers within the Department. Orthopaedics handles a diverse range of medical issues, from acute fractures to elective joint replacements.
The Department of Orthopaedics has two residency programs. The Orthopaedic Residency Program which is a five year program, with thirty residents and the Podiatric Residency Program which is a three year program, with six residents. We also have five fellowships with seven fellows across the fellowships. All education programs are designed to provide education and experience in the clinical, educational, administrative and research aspects of orthopaedics and podiatry.

Faculty Defined
Clinical faculty (regardless of rank)
- Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.
Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.
Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years. Their principal career focus is research.

Schedule

What You’ll Lead

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN License in the State of Illinois.
  • Current CPR certification; ACLS preferred and required within the first year for certain specialties.
  • Relevant certifications (PALS, NRP, etc.) as required by specialty.
  • Ability to recognize changes in patient condition quickly.
  • Knowledge of patient growth and development needs.
  • Accurate and detail‑oriented work performance.
  • 3 years of OR nursing experience, including spine, orthopedics, and robotic surgery.
  • Variable hours availability.
  • Good knowledge of inventory and supplies in the operating room.
