Position Summary

The Technical Architect — Workday is responsible for guiding Workday's technical strategy across Integrations, Prism Analytics, and Reporting at Stream Realty Partners. This role oversees the design, delivery, and governance of Workday technical solutions, aligning technical capabilities with business objectives and serving as the primary escalation point for complex technical matters.

1. Technical Strategy & Roadmap

  • Collaborate with business leadership and Workday BSMs to define and maintain the roadmap and strategy for Workday technical capabilities, including Integrations, Extend, Prism Analytics, Reporting, and potentially Sana.
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of Workday technical solutions and platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with business objectives and enterprise IT direction.
  • Align technical strategy with business priorities, platform capabilities, and the Workday release calendar.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage new Workday technical features, extensibility options, and platform enhancements.
  • Provide IT leadership with portfolio-level status reporting, technical risk assessments, and capacity forecasting for the Workday technical portfolio.
  • Design, oversee, and maintain the Workday integration architecture, including EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), Core Connectors, and Workday Studio integrations.
  • Guide internal and third-party Integrations and Prism developers on design patterns, coding standards, and technical best practices.
  • Ensure solution integrity across all integration points, validating data flows, error handling, and performance characteristics.
  • Facilitate conversations between technical and non-technical resources, translating business requirements into sound technical specifications.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for technical issues across integrations, Prism, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with middleware and integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi) where applicable to ensure seamless connectivity.

3. Prism Analytics & Data Management

  • Oversee the design and maintenance of Workday Prism Analytics data pipelines, including data sourcing, data preparation, and data publishing within the Workday tenant.
  • Ensure the integrity of Prism data models, transformation logic, and published datasets used for dashboards and advanced reporting.
  • Establish standards for data lineage documentation, transformation logic, and dataset dependency management.
  • Assess downstream reporting impacts when modifying datasets and ensure data quality, reconciliation, and validation standards are met.
  • Determine appropriate use cases for Prism Analytics versus Workday reporting or external BI tools.

4. Reporting & Analytics Oversight

  • Oversee the Workday reporting framework, including custom report development, dashboard creation, and calculated field management.
  • Establish and enforce reporting policies, controls, and secure access standards.
  • Coordinate with functional teams to translate analytical requirements into structured data solutions and reporting artifacts.
  • Ensure reporting architecture supports cross-functional needs across Financials, HCM, and Security domains.

5. Governance & Technical Standards

  • Establish and maintain governance structures across integrations, data, extensibility, and reporting to support effective decision-making and platform integrity.
  • Manage governance processes to ensure technical solutions adhere to Stream's IT policies, security requirements, and data standards.
  • Oversee tenant migration processes for technical artifacts (integrations, Prism datasets, reports) across Sandbox, Preview, and Production environments.
  • Coordinate with the Release Manager to ensure technical changes are properly tested, scheduled, and deployed.
  • Assess the impact of Workday release cycles on integration models, Prism data structures, and reporting artifacts.

6. Solution Delivery & Team Coordination

  • Lead cross-functional technical delivery teams through integration development, Prism analytics builds, and reporting initiatives.
  • Manage or coordinate work of internal and third-party integration developers, Prism developers, and report analysts supporting the Workday platform.
  • Specialize in technical configurations and serve as the subject matter expert for Workday's technical architecture.
  • Provide mentorship, work direction, and performance input for direct or matrixed technical team members.
  • Coordinate with vendor partners and managed service providers on technical deliverables and knowledge transfer.

7. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary IT liaison and escalation point for Workday technical matters across all functional domains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience with Workday technical capabilities, including Integrations, Prism Analytics, and Reporting.

About This Role

Extension agents are professional educators, community connectors and innovators who serve as a link between Kansas State University and communities across Kansas. Agents (including local unit directors) are jointly responsible to the director of K‑State Extension (represented by a designated administrator) and the local extension board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other agents, local unit staff, board members, and others (as appropriate) to provide administrative leadership for the following activities:
    • Developing the annual budget, securing extramural funds, submitting appropriate financial reports, and reviewing audits.
    • Handling legal responsibilities of the local extension unit as directed in extension law.
    • Supervising, coaching, and evaluating agents and local unit staff.
    • Planning for office space, equipment, and technology.
    • Assuming leadership for working with the Extension Board; local stakeholders; area and state extension faculty; and others to develop comprehensive programming to address local issues.
    • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with county commissioners and other key decision-makers in the local unit.
  • Deliver educational programming related to family and community wellness. This will entail leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming to build healthy, sustainable communities, families, and individuals. Programming will be conducted with volunteers and extension colleagues to strengthen families and individuals; build community capacity; promote individual and community health and wellness; and lead volunteer development.
  • Support local 4‑H youth development programming to empower Wallace County youth through connection, learning, and leadership opportunities.
  • Share responsibility for community vitality programming that helps our communities become better places to live, work, and play by strengthening social, civic, economic, and technological capacity through leadership development and civic engagement.
  • Successful extension programs require agents to:
    • Identify local needs and emerging issues related to K‑State Extension’s five critical issues (water and natural resources; community vitality; health; developing tomorrow’s leaders; and global food systems) by engaging with program development committees and other community organizations.
    • Design appropriate educational strategies to respond to emerging needs and engage clientele by aligning with the imperatives of the K‑State Next‑Gen Strategic Plan. Strategies might include educational programming in a community‑based setting; events and activities that provide experiential learning opportunities; use of innovative technologies; individual educational consultations; and group facilitation.
    • Collaborate with local partners to meet community and programmatic needs.
    • Recruit and manage volunteers to further the reach and impact of extension programming.
    • Develop and implement strategies to serve all community audiences.
    • Collect and communicate evidence of educational program impact.
    • Cultivate expertise in a competency area by engaging as a member of a Program Focus Team.
  • Pursue internal and external funding to support educational programming.

Location and Worksite Option

This agent will serve the people of Sunflower District. The Sunflower Extension District has offices in Goodland, Sharon Springs and St. Francis. This agent’s primary office will be in Sharon Springs, KS.

Work for this position is on site in the Wallace County Extension office and at locations throughout the district.

This position will require occasional overnight travel and is expected to host and attend events during some evenings and weekends. Reimbursement for travel and subsistence related to achieving program objectives will be provided.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least two years of formal supervisory experience.
  • At least 12 credit hours of academic coursework or six months of professional experience related directly to the position’s primary responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated academic and/or professional achievement (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale or evidence of progressively responsible professional roles).
  • Experience delivering information, training, or education to groups or individuals, either in person or through media.
