Commercial Tire Technician is an important role within our organization and a great way to start a career in the heavy-duty truck service industry. Tires are a big part of who we are and what we do! This role will consist of mounting, dismounting, patching, and repairing heavy truck, heavy equipment and agricultural tires as well as performing roadside service. We offer extensive on-the-job training from industry experts. The perfect candidate would have some mechanical inclination, a great work ethic and a positive attitude. Experience with OTR tires preferred, but not required. We will provide the rest of the tools for the job. The typical shift is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This role will require operating a 24-hour service truck in a monthly rotation after completion of industry training.

Role Responsibilities

  • Safely load, secure, transport, and offload CarMax vehicles between stores, auctions, vendors, and logistics hubs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of vehicles to maintain inventory flow and customer satisfaction.
  • Operate equipment with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and cleanliness, maintaining a well-kept truck and trailer.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state.
  • 2+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (Military heavy/medium tactical vehicle experience considered).
  • Current CarMax associates may apply if they meet:
  • A valid Class A CDL.
  • 2+ years of CMV driving experience at CarMax (non-Class A CMV experience acceptable).
  • No preventable safety incidents in the past 2 years (validated by Safety & Compliance Team).
  • Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years; must meet CarMax's Driver Safety Evaluation criteria.
  • Ability to meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements.

Benefits:

Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.

Associates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible:

  • To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
  • For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.

Position Overview

The Residential Sales Representative is a field-based role focused on generating new business and working directly with homeowners. This position involves door-to-door outreach, in-person consultations, closing sales on-site, and participating in local events and community marketing efforts.

You will be responsible for identifying customer needs, presenting solutions, and coordinating with our operations team to ensure a smooth transition from sale to service.

Compensation

This is a commission-based role with uncapped earning potential. A gas stipend is provided, along with ongoing coaching and support from leadership.

Compensation Range: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

In this role, you will generate leads through neighborhood outreach, attend local events, and run appointments with homeowners. You will conduct property walkthroughs, identify cleaning needs, present service options, and close sales. You will also communicate with the operations team to ensure accurate scheduling and execution of services.

Training & Development

New hires complete a one-week intensive training program that combines classroom instruction with field experience. During this time, you will learn the company’s sales process, pricing structure, and objection handling strategies, while participating in real sales interactions.

Ongoing coaching, ride-alongs, and team training sessions are provided to support continued development.
