Sales Consultant

The Sales Consultant represents Southern Glazer's in the market as a member of the Southern Glazer's family. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Propose selling solutions to each customer and win the sale using consultative selling skills
  • Achieve internal SGWS and supplier objectives as prioritized by management
  • Manage customer issue resolution, seek additional opportunities to support the customer's needs, and support business growth by providing customers with useful information and guidance
  • Adapt the selling approach based on each customer's buying styles and individual business needs
  • Be knowledgeable and experienced in all accounts staying current with what competitors are offering and how SGWS products are positioned relative to the competition

Working under the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Foreman will lead and help coordinate all activities associated with their department. The Maintenance Mechanic for the new Alpha plant supports the operational efficiency of the production department by responding to breakdown calls, troubleshooting, analyzing, and repairing mechanical equipment. Continuously promotes through understanding of safety while following all established safety procedures. Some non-routine activities may require a supervisor's advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receiving work from shift supervisor or manager and carrying out assigned duties timely and accurately.
  • Responds to breakdown trouble calls and brings machines back to their accurate running state. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing problems related to electrical and mechanical equipment or process failures.
  • Participate and collaborate with operations personnel to ensure efficient production and minimize downtime.
  • Complete assigned scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) work on industrial bakery associated machines.
  • Dismantle, repair and reassemble gear boxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, furnaces, drives and all bakery mechanical equipment.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics/ mechanical blueprints.
  • Maintain company documentation as needed.

Primary responsibilities include promoting and ensuring a safe, clean work environment in company vehicles and on job sites, performing random safety audits on company owned vehicles, identifying and correcting unsafe actions performed by technicians, assisting peers in developing their technical abilities, and communicating performance of technicians in email to management team weekly.

Additional responsibilities include conducting post repair audits and coaching, completing in-office review of work orders and inspections, ensuring new technicians are equipped with proper tooling and training, and spending a minimum of 2-days per week with technicians in the field.

This role will require occasional travel throughout South West Georgia (Columbus, McDonough, Macon, Albany, Valdosta).

To be successful in this position, you should understand the requirements of time needed for scheduling work, keeping in mind current outstanding projects and employee schedules. You should possess a strong mechanical background knowledge with various engines and different types of equipment, excellent communication skills, and an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams. You should also provide your own tooling, exhibit teamwork mentality, and be able to work a flexible schedule, to include some nights and occasional weekends.
