Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

What qualifications you will need:


    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

The hospital is staffed with pediatric emergency physicians, pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists who are specially trained to care for children. It also includes certified child-life specialists who help kids feel more comfortable during their hospital stay. Position Details:

  • Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy 
  • Recognize and respond to patient emergencies 
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and more

As a Women's Services Float Pool Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will work collaboratively with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care. 


  • You will formulate a plan of care, revise the plan based on the patient’s response to treatment and regularly evaluate plan for effectiveness 


  • You will consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate and revise the plan of care to meet the patient’s needs and goals 


  • You will administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy 


  • You will delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice 


  • You will provide pre- and post-operative patient care 


  • You will provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments 


  • You will facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team 


 

What qualifications you will need: 

  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

The Supervisor serves as a resource for complex cases, escalates barriers to care, and fosters a culture of accountability, excellence, and teamwork

What qualifications you will need: 

Education & Experience:

Job Summary and Qualifications


As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN),you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care on infants. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will work collaboratively with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care.  



  • You will attend deliveries and performs neonatal stabilization and admission assessments of newborns  


  • You will create a plan of care, including discharge plans, revise the plans based on the patients’ response to treatment and regularly evaluate plans for effectiveness 


  • You will conduct on-going assessments of infants and communicate any changes to Nurse Practitioner or Neonatologist  


  • You will administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy  


  • You will assist transport teams in stabilization of infants and provide necessary support and documentation to facilitate the transfer 


  • You will provide support and education materials to families on homecare, treatments, adoption and support groups  


  • You will assist in high-risk deliveries and assist Nurse Practitioner with resuscitation  


  • You will delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice  

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

St. David's Surgical Hospital is part of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and is the first Level 4 Epilepsy Center in Central Texas for both adults and children. It has its own 24-hour emergency department, a medical-surgical inpatient unit, and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) for patients ages 17 and under. The hospital is staffed with pediatric emergency physicians, pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists who are specially trained to care for children.
