What you will do in this role:
- Applies fetal ultrasound principles in the evaluation of fetal anomalies
- Applies gynecological ultrasound principles in the evaluation of patient
- Adapts to various ultrasound machines while maintaining high standards of sonography
- Identifies fetal anomalies, such as CNS, maxillofacial, cardiothoracic, abdomen, abdomen wall, genitourinary, extremity placental, umbilical cord growth disturbance
- Performs ultrasounds on maternal uterus, cervix and ovaries
- Performs complicated twin and triplet scans in conjunction with in-office multiple gestation service
- Identifies gynecological anomalies such as fibroids, thickened endometrium and polyps
- Makes preliminary, equivocal diagnosis of gynecological and fetal disorders in the organ systems mentioned in above
- Operates General Electric, Accuson, Medison, and ATL ultrasound machines with proficiency.
- Continues to expand knowledge of latest technology
- Maintains ultrasound logging records including past medical history, past surgical history, past obstetric history, and past genetic history.
- Prepares patients for procedures including and not limited to Level I &II ultrasounds, amniocentesis, lung maturity amniocentesis, PUBS, amino reduction, external cephalic version, and GYN ultrasound
- Maintains professional relationship with other staff members, other obstetric offices and hospital personnel
- Exercises independent judgement when interpreting Biophysical Profiles designed to assess fetal well-being
- Alerts physicians of potentially dangerous conditions. Diagnoses fetal weight disturbances based on fetal biometry
- Diagnoses multiple fetal anomalies and reports and demonstrates them to physician
- Other duties as assigned
What Qualifications you will need:
- Associates degree in Ultrasound required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- RDMS required
- RDMS – OB/GYN preferred

Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Radiology Technician, you will:
- Perform timely and quality radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician.
- Perform quality control checks/audits on radiologic equipment.
- Perform drug screens, urinalysis and other in-house lab tests including processing specimens for reference laboratories.

You Should Have:

Job Summary and Qualifications
General Statement of Duties:
Responsible for diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast enhanced radiographs of blood vessels to aid physician in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Operates fluoroscope to aid physician in viewing image of the guide wire or catheter through blood vessel to area of interest. Fills automatic injector with contrast media, sets flow rate, and activates injection of contrast media into blood vessels of patient, as directed by physician. Monitors video display of area of interest and adjusts density and contrast to obtain optimum exposure and starts filming sequence. Assure that sterile or non-sterile supplies such as contrast materials, catheters or other required equipment, are present and in working order or requisition materials
Essential Job Functions:
1. Demonstrates competence in all areas of special procedures: positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, technical factors and surgical assistance.
2. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, adult patients
3. Ensures efficient workflow in Special Procedures Department by getting patients started on time and keeping room turnaround time to a minimum.
4. Responsible for the proper use of the computer system (scheduling exams, patient tracking, film tracking, proper completion of exams, capture charges).
5. Understands and follows infection control/universal precautions in the performance of all job tasks. Maintains order and cleanliness. Always practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination.
6. Responsible for the care and maintenance of existing IVs may be responsible for injecting specific medication under the direction of the physician.
Additional Job Functions:
1. May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents and other non-controlled medications as appropriate to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
2. Will integrate current scientific knowledge and technology into their work practices, play an active roll in the orientation and training of new employees and students and participate in continuing education provided to the department during work hours. Yearly, Technologist will participate in and complete their Job Skills/Competency Checklist.
3. Maintain an atmosphere of professionalism, communicate technical and general information to, as well as, display consideration to peers, medical personnel, and customers in a professional manner and promote a positive image in daily and professional activities. Technologist will maintain a clean, stocked, orderly work area.
4. All employees shall facilitate and participate in current and future Radiology Department CQI monitoring and implement changes accordingly. Employees shall assist in collection of data, reviewing and revising the CQI program to be in compliance with accrediting agencies, hospital goals, departmental policies and procedures. All employees shall demonstrate knowledge and responsibility for on going CQI.
5. Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrates excellent customer service at all times.
6. Understands and is committed to helping the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities achieve its goals.
7. Job Summary and Qualifications
Provides health care services, applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by; or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performances of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age-specific needs.
Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities of the Radiology Technologist
- Performs all diagnostic and screening imaging procedures including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic and portable procedures.
- Assists physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterile technique.
- Prepares and administers radiopaque contrast media needed for radiologic exams
- Assess patient’s condition prior to and during all radiologic procedures.
- Performs other Department related duties as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or a military training program of equivalent standards.
- Associates Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology.
- One year of experience as a Radiology Technologist - preferred
- Licensed Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with the Texas Medical Board
- Registered technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists primary certification in Radiography - ARRT (R). If hired prior to 4/13/2012 and the technologist has been performing x-rays since 1987 and was grandfathered in by the State of Texas, only MRT or CMRT license required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is a full-service medical center providing comprehensive medical care at two locations – St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and St. David’s Surgical Hospital.
St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is a 460+ bed, multi-specialty, acute care hospital. It provides advanced women’s health services, including maternity and newborn care with Level I, II, and III neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) at the nearby St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas. The hospital also offers minimally invasive gynecological surgery and comprehensive breast imaging through Solis Mammography, which is located on-site. Other services include a 24-hour emergency department, pediatric emergency care, and intensive care at St. David’s Children’s Hospital. The hospital also features the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery, bariatric (weight loss) surgery, a Heart and Vascular Center, neurology and neurosurgery, a kidney transplant program, a Level IV Epilepsy Center, as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery and acute rehabilitation services for both inpatients and outpatients.
St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, located at St. David's North Austin Medical Center, is recognized by the State of Texas as a Level IV Maternal Facility. This means it provides the highest level of care for pregnant and postpartum patients, especially those with serious or complex medical, surgical, or pregnancy-related conditions, including those at high risk for maternal morbidity or mortality. The center includes a 95+ bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 30+ private rooms, 10+ rooms for very small babies, and 10+ beds for babies needing neurological care. It also has 35+ labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, including Central Texas’ first low-intervention birthing suites with tubs. There are 95+ postpartum beds, 20+ antepartum beds, and Cesarean section surgical suites. The facility offers 24/7 neonatology coverage, OB/GYN hospitalists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, lactation consultants, and a midwifery program. It is part of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network and TexasAIM, and it also provides a high-risk pregnancy navigation and support program.
St. David's Surgical Hospital is part of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and is the first Level 4 Epilepsy Center in Central Texas for both adults and children. It has its own 24-hour emergency department, a medical-surgical inpatient unit, and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) for patients ages 17 and under. The hospital is staffed with pediatric emergency physicians, pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists who are specially trained to care for children. It also includes certified child-life specialists who help kids feel more comfortable during their hospital stay. St. David’s Children’s Hospital offers many pediatric services, such as pediatric surgery, pediatric radiology (including imaging and interventional procedures), and pediatric anesthesia for surgical support. It also has a wide range of pediatric specialists available for consultation and treatment, including general surgery, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), craniofacial and plastic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, urology, and cardiology, among others.
