Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) is an innovative nonprofit committed to ending domestic violence, human trafficking, and violent crime through hope, advocacy and connection. Our services include emergency shelter, transitional housing, rental subsidies, mental health services, substance recovery, and wrap-around services. All our services are trauma-sensitive and client-centered and are provided at no cost to our clients. All programs are low barrier.

RP is led by survivors with a focus on reflection, innovation, and connection. We believe in fostering relationships, both in our direct service work and throughout our internal work culture. We aim to cultivate a workplace that appreciates and emphasizes the voices of those most impacted by violence. If a staff member cannot be approved by RP insurance as a driver, employment might not be able to continue. Instances where staff cannot be approved to drive will be reviewed on a case by case basis to determine if employment can continue in their role without driving agency vehicles. Items considered include but are not limited to: the shift the staff member holds and the frequency/necessity of driving during that shift, the amount of time before the staff member may be approved to drive by the insurance carrier, the availability of other staff on site to drive agency vehicles as program needs require, etc.

Able to complete all required background checks. Additional requirements may be deemed necessary, including fingerprinting (Live Scan), completion of all Community Care Licensing (CCL) documents, and ability to meet CCL licensing requirements.

Experience in child welfare and/or case management, crisis intervention, peer counseling.

Experienced in working with survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence.

Understanding of the dynamics of trauma-informed care, as well as an understanding of, and sensitivity to, serving diverse populations and languages as it relates to family dynamics and other aspects of cultural practice.

This position provides necessary shift coverage for the overall operation and function of RP shelter for survivors and victims of domestic violence and/or human trafficking. Additionally, the Advocate (On-Call) will provide support and assistance to Case Management staff. This position is on-call and does not have regularly scheduled hours. You will be contacted when there is an available shift to be filled. You must work a minimum of one 8 hour shift every other month at either an adult or youth facility.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Monitor the facility during the day, evening, and/or overnight shifts.
  2. Provide general information and referral to hotline callers.
  3. Provide emotional support to residents.
  4. Practice active listening with residents.
  5. Perform telephone screening for potential clients.
  6. Basic maintenance and cleaning tasks (cleaning, chore supervision, stocking, and general supply inventory).
  7. Assist with data entry, filing and additional clerical duties.
  8. Provide confidential, holistic, client-centered, trauma-informed services.
  9. Orient new residents to the facility.
  10. Provide back up in-person coverage to other shelter programs as necessary.
  11. Assist with general shelter operations.
  12. Fill out a functional timesheet by assigned due dates and in compliance with the time allocations.
  13. Actively participate in reflective supervision
  14. Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures in relation to duties of the job
  15. Other duties as assigned.

This position is 100% in person. You must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform physical activities, including lifting up to 25 pounds. You will be subject to frequent interruptions and must be able to multitask and handle stress.

Local travel in the greater Bay Area may be required.

The pay scale for the Advocate (On Call) position is $29.87 per hour (non-exempt). The benefits that come with working at RP on call include immediate vesting in our 403(b) with a generous match. This is an in person on-call hourly position. Applicants must be located in the greater Bay Area.

Technical Accounting (TA) reviews and confirms conclusions on the US GAAP accounting by AES for all its contracts and non-standard transactions that could have a potentially material impact to the consolidated financial statements of AES. These conclusions result from critically analyzing, questioning and discussing memoranda submitted by the local business TA leads and local Controllers and thoroughly reviewing any associated contracts in English. TA also promotes consistent accounting interpretations across AES by actively monitoring, understanding, applying and sharing examples from other SBUs proactively or as needed. Also, TA develops the US GAAP accounting policies of AES and is responsible for US GAAP training at AES.

The Sr. Manager Technical Accounting will be responsible for performing independent research of complex accounting transactions, and prepare as well as review technical accounting memos submitted by local businesses based on a wide variety of topics, and providing feedback in a timely manner. Will provide support to internal and external audits as required. Build strong relationships with cross-functional groups (e.g., Commercial, Treasury, Development, M&A, etc.) along with counterparts within the local businesses. This individual is expected to develop Company-specific and industry knowledge in order to be identified as point of contact for accounting issues and in support of the various deliverables as well as delegate work as appropriate. Lead due diligence and transaction reviews from an accounting standpoint in support of the M&A process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research, document and review complex accounting transactions including those related to derivatives, revenue arrangements under ASC 606, leases under ASC 842 and consolidation accounting, among others.
  • Review documentation and research performed by others to ensure conclusions are fully researched, supported and consistent with precedent-setting global conclusions.
  • Assist the local TA teams by providing timely accounting analysis for proposed transactions as well as recommendations on deal structure as required to support the decision making by the M&A team and Senior Leadership.
  • Consult in design of transactions to achieve the desired earnings impact within GAAP guidance.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to more junior technical accounting staff.
  • Timely identify and effectively communicate/resolve issues to avoid financial statement errors.
  • Stay up to date on new accounting pronouncements and relevant GAAP issues and evaluate how they may impact the Company and ensure relevant information and accounting changes is provided to other departments when it impacts them.
  • Interpret the accounting policies, propose and review changes to accounting policies.
  • Prepare or participate in preparation of certain footnote disclosures for public financial statements.
  • Participate in the review of financial statements for external filings required by legal agreements and local laws and regulations on a consistent basis.
  • Manage discussions with engagement level partners and national office/professional practice directors with external auditors and/or consultants.
  • Develop and maintain adequate SOX compliance as it relates to technical accounting.
  • Assist in special accounting projects as assigned.

The Sr. Manager Technical Accounting regularly makes judgments and interpretations in the following highly technical areas of US GAAP:

  • Identify when agreements to physically deliver electricity, fuel or other commodities are standalone derivatives, contain embedded derivatives requiring bifurcation, and/or contain lease elements.
  • Assesses when contracts represent variable interests that allow one party to direct significant activities that results in a variable interest entity (and, if so, affects who is the primary beneficiary). Alternatively, if voting interest model is used, evaluate any rights the non-controlling partner may have that would preclude consolidation.
  • Impairment of assets (including recoverability and/or fair value testing with little/no observable inputs).
  • Accounting for business combinations and asset acquisitions (of voting and variable interest entities).
  • Accounting for sales of all or some interests in businesses (many of which are in-substance real estate).
  • Complex debt and equity transactions (including project financing and identifying embedded derivatives).
  • Revenue recognition; regulatory accounting and issues; functional currency determination/translation.
  • Understand and interpret the impacts to AES (and Power & Utilities industry) of new and major guidance expected to be issued.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Certified Public Accountant with active license in the United States or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience with a publicly-traded company under US GAAP and/or with a Big 4 firm auditing (preferably with concentration in technical accounting) publicly-traded companies under US GAAP.
  • Extensive experience in highly technical accounting areas.
  • Energy/utility company industry accounting and/or audit experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills (especially for an executive-level audience), interpersonal skills and time/project management skills.
  • Must be proficient in personal computer skills and have strong research, interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team with limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Must exhibit in-depth knowledge of US GAAP and be able to understand and interpret complex accounting guidance.

We are seeking enthusiastic instructors to help teach in our popular HVAC program. It is the philosophy of Charter College to provide a unique educational path for students that will lead to successful job performance and job satisfaction in HVAC, welding, health care and business industries.

We are looking for a Part Time HVAC instructor who has the commitment and drive to help students achieve their dreams.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
  • Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program and/or develop such when indicated by the President.
  • Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events.
  • Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration.
  • Grading assignments, returning graded assignments to students, and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner.
  • Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times (i.e., office hours) or by appointment
  • Substitute in classes when necessary.
  • Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc. Maintain communication with Dean of Education regarding such activity.
  • Monitor all equipment and supply inventory in locked facilities.
  • Secure consumable supplies as well as educational materials from administrative office when needed.
  • Maintain professional appearance.
  • Maintain professional expertise (faculty development) to meet accreditation standards by attending educational seminars in professional field, reading current literature, attending online courses, etc.
  • Ensure that students follow the catalog guidelines daily.
  • Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings.
  • Serve on committees (e.g., curriculum development, retention, etc.) as assigned based upon expertise or campus needs.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years field experience.
  • HVAC certification preferred.
  • Preference will go to those who are experienced instructors.

Hours/Schedule:
  • Part Time Evening (5:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.) 2 days a week.
  • Monday through Thursday.
  • AM and PM Shift.
  • Paid by each 5-week Course taught $1800.00 to $2250.00.
