Accounting Manager

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager, assigned to the Rubies entity, will lead a team responsible for the financial statements of multiple Ad Populum businesses. You will ensure the timely and accurate completion of financials and the integrity of all accounting functions. You will manage and review accruals, revenue recognition, audits, and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly financials, including the balance sheet and income statement, and present the results to leadership.
  • Conduct revenue and expense analysis with comparisons and explanations for drivers of large changes or unexpected variances.
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Partner closely with finance to align on actual results compared to forecasted results.
  • Account for intercompany transactions, consolidation, and entries.
  • Assist with year-end audit with external auditors.
  • File sales and use tax returns.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and marketing teams to review expenditures.
  • Monitor internal control policies and procedures, refining processes and updating documentation as needed.
  • Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance required. CPA preferred.
  • 4-5 years of relevant industry experience or 2-4 busy seasons of public accounting experience.
  • Personnel management experience a plus.
  • Must have experience with monthly close, reconciliations, and year-end audits.
  • Technical accounting skillset, including an understanding of GAAP.
  • Great attention to detail with analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and balance priorities.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.

Compensation

Education Qualifications
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. (NPs hired prior to March 1, 2012 are not subject to this educational requirement.)
  • Graduate of an NP program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure.
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.

What You’ll Do
  • This is a hands-on financial support role focused on processing, organization, and consistent follow-through. Daily responsibilities include:
  • Perform relief cashiering duties as needed
  • Process all Accounts Payable (AP) transactions, including employee reimbursements, contracted invoices, and fixed assets, in compliance with administrative codes, statutes, policies, procedures, and deadlines
  • Ensure AP invoices are paid through OnBase within four days of receipt and document any delays
  • Use the County credit card for approved purchases and ensure all department cardholder expenses are accurately allocated on a weekly basis
  • Manage petty cash disbursement and reconciliation
  • Input purchase order requests or contract lines by the end of the next workday with minimal errors
  • Follow up on pending requisitions and coordinate with Procurement on outstanding purchase orders
  • Run monthly expenditure and revenue reports
  • Prepare journal entries as needed
Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet any combination of education and experience equivalent to specialized training in accounting or a closely related field. This may include:

  • Completion of one year of college-level coursework or vocational training in accounting, bookkeeping, or a closely related discipline; or
  • Equivalent relevant work experience that substitutes for education on a year-for-year basis; or
  • A High School diploma or GED paired with substantial accounting or bookkeeping experience.

And:

  • Two years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial processing, or closely related administrative support work
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to meet deadlines, follow established financial procedures, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using JD Edwards OneWorld, OnBase/Unity, Tyler Technologies, or similar financial systems
  • Experience in accounts payable, purchase orders, or governmental financial processes
  • Familiarity with budgeting, journal entries, or internal billing workflows
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and documentation
