About the Role

Ever dream about being in tech but aren't quite ready to trade in your cowboy boots? Look no further than Halter! As the leading provider of virtual fencing technology, Halter is on a mission to enable 50% of the world's landmass to be more productive and sustainable. This role is paramount for our growth aspirations and will enable us to continue making an impact on ranches across the US. As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will play a critical role in driving new business growth and ensuring customer success within your designated territory. You will be responsible for executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and meeting ambitious growth targets, all while acting as Halter's on-the-ground representative. This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach, with a focus on both expansion and long-term customer satisfaction. In this role, you will prioritize daily efforts that optimize performance and drive value for your customers. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Support, and Customer Onboarding, you'll share field insights to ensure Halter's technology continues to meet the needs of US farmers. Your day-to-day could include being on horseback, helping customers gather their cattle, on a side-by-side traversing their pastures, talking about how Halter could benefit their pastures, or attending industry events like CattleCon or your local Livestock Association meetups.

This role covers the North East region in Nebraska. Frequent travel is required as apart of this role.

What Your Day Could Look Like

  • Prospecting New Business: You're driving up driveways, attending local cattle auctions, meeting with your local Livestock, Cattleman's, Stockman's associations, building your new business pipeline through outbound lead generation efforts. You're fielding inbound leads in a timely manner, prioritizing administrative tasks with your in-field activities.

  • In-Field Sales: You don't mind getting your hands and boots dirty. Halter is best discussed over a coffee at a kitchen table, in the horse saddle, or on a side-by-side in a pasture. You're out on the ranch helping potential customers before diving into the value of Halter. You're dropping off coffee during calving season. You value the magic moments that make all the difference to our customers.

  • Expanding Existing Opportunities: You're always looking for new opportunities, and that includes expanding your existing customers with Halter. You find value in expanding relationships and finding new ways to increase value over time. Not every rancher will collar all of their cows, so you see this as a unique opportunity to meet your goals.

  • Hitting Sales Targets: High-growth sales targets don't scare you; you step up to a challenge and like shooting high. You're an expert pipeline manager and don't second-guess unqualifying a lead. You're able to manage today's deals while keeping next month in your sights.

  • Customer Account Management: Building relationships is more than just making the sale to you. After the sale, you aim to maintain close relationships with your customers to ensure their ongoing satisfaction, provide support, and address any challenges they face with Halter's products. You'll also ensure a smooth handoff from sales to customer onboarding and deployment of Halter, helping customers get the most value from Halter's solutions.

  • Territory Ownership: You have a high level of ownership and take pride in what you build. Owning an entire territory means giving treatment to every corner and leaving no stone unturned. You value being the face of your territory, meeting with high-level stakeholders from various local, state, and federal agencies to build lasting relationships with regional agricultural groups.

  • Customer Onboarding: Your high level of ownership doesn't stop after the sale. You dive in to make sure your customers have the very best onboarding experience possible. You actively own the end-to-end customer experience during onboarding and deployment of Halter's product, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to implementation even when you've handed off the customer to different teams across Halter.

  • Field Learnings & Feedback: Feedback is not only paramount to the companies you want to work for, but it's also ingrained in how you would own your territory. Serving as the primary point of contact for gathering customer feedback in your territory, you work tirelessly to advocate for what your customers need.

  • Collaborating with Support Teams: You're a natural collaborator, seeking out partners across Halter to resolve any issues your customers encounter, and quickly. You escalate problems as needed and ensure that customers in your territory feel fully supported.

  • Attending Industry Events: You leverage opportunities at relevant industry and Halter events to generate leads and deepen relationships with existing customers. You'll participate in demonstrations and network to expand Halter's influence in the market.

  • Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: You strongly believe that a team can only be stronger when they work together. You strive to work with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process, ensuring it fits the US market. As we scale, your input will help drive greater efficiencies.

You'll Be Great If You Exhibit

  • Driven Attitude & Communication Skills: Results-driven, motivated, and adaptable, you excel in high-stakes environments. You're well-prepared and skilled at communicating with customers and internal teams alike. You are proactive and do not wait to act.

  • Ranching / Cattle Experience: You know the ropes (and the reins) of ranching or cattle operations, understanding the unique challenges of the industry. This experience allows you to connect meaningfully with customers about what matters most.

  • Sales & Customer Success Expertise: You have a strong history of creating new business opportunities, negotiating a value-based sales conversation, and have a background in building lasting customer relationships. You build relationships versus transactional sales, aiming for the long-term success stories and can expand existing relationships through upsell opportunities.

  • Territory Management Experience: Experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology.

Job Description

Job Description

Director of Employer Partnerships

BioBuzz Networks

Full-Time · Base + Commission + Equity · Maryland/DMV · Reports to the CEO

For more than 15 years, BioBuzz has been where the life sciences community goes to connect — across the BioHealth Capital Region, Greater Philadelphia, and North Carolina. A 30,000+ member community, the events where the industry actually meets, and the media and relationships that come from being in the room first. The executives and hiring leaders you’d be selling to already know us, and already trust us.

Now we’re building on that trust with a new AI-powered hiring platform — giving life sciences employers one place to brand themselves, post unlimited jobs, and hire faster. No one else in this industry pairs a real community with the platform and the recruiting muscle to back it up.

This is the role that turns 15 years of relationships into revenue. As Director of Employer Partnerships, you’ll be the first dedicated sales and delivery leader for our employer business — starting with a state-backed program, the BioCatalyst Partnership Program, that employers already want. You’ll own the full relationship: first conversation, signed agreement, renewal, expansion. There’s no playbook to inherit, because you’re the one who writes it.

It’s a true ground-floor seat at a growth-stage company — base, commission, and equity — with a clear path to Head of Revenue or Head of Sales as you build the function.

That’s where you come in.

Why this seat is rare

  • An established brand. 15+ years of credibility in life sciences. You’re not cold-calling strangers — you’re calling on a community that already knows the BioBuzz name.
  • Warm relationships, ready to grow. Real connections with executives and hiring leaders across the region, waiting for someone to own and expand them.
  • A program employers already want. BioCatalyst is state-backed and built to help companies grow their talent pipelines and their brand — an easy first “yes,” and the foundation for long-term partnerships.
  • Real upside, real ownership. Base + commission + equity, and a role that grows into Head of Revenue, Head of Sales, or Head of Client Success. Where it goes is in your hands.

What you’ll own

Revenue & full-cycle sales

  • Own the full cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing deals with life sciences employers.
  • Lead with BioCatalyst as the entry point, then grow each account into broader hiring and recruiting partnerships.
  • Build and manage a forecasted pipeline — stages, close dates, and employer revenue as your primary number.
  • Create the sales playbook, pricing, and proposal templates from scratch, and direct SDR and lead-gen activity to keep meetings flowing.
  • Close annual partnerships, not one-off transactions — and pursue sponsorship, event, and advertising deals as supplemental revenue.
  • You’ll be supported by a GTM associate and strategic marketing plan to convert new leads and nurture warm relationships.

Partner relationships & success

  • Be the primary relationship owner for every employer partner, from signed agreement through renewal and expansion.
  • Make sure each partner gets results — that their employer profile and job postings are attracting qualified candidates, and that a clear recruiting and search strategy is in place for any open roles awarded to us for recruitment.
  • Ensure each partner’s goals are being met with the BioCatalyst program, coordinate with the rest of the BioBuzz team on the employer-branding and workforce-development deliverables that come with each partnership.
  • Learn each partner’s hiring goals and connect them to the right BioBuzz solutions — branding, platform, or recruitment – upsell to grow the account.
  • Run quarterly check-ins that prove impact and open up the next opportunity.
  • Lead employer client growth into verticals, markets, and hiring segments across life sciences — and own the number.

Strategy & infrastructure

  • Build the playbook and shape an employer revenue strategy in coordination with CEO.
  • Stand up the CRM/ATS pipeline and reporting that give the business real-time visibility into revenue health.
  • Turn partner wins into case studies, proof points, and pitch materials that make the next sale easier.
  • Build a repeatable, scalable process that can support a team as you grow it.

What success looks like

  • First 90 days. You own the BioCatalyst story cold, your pipeline is robust, and your first 10 partners are signed and live for a Fall semester of student ambassadors and fellows.
  • By 6 months. A repeatable playbook and pricing model, a healthy forecasted pipeline, and BioCatalyst partners already seeing results as we scale into a more traditional SaaS model around employer subscriptions.
  • By 12 months. Employer revenue is a predictable, growing channel — and you’re ready to bring on and lead the team beneath you.

Who you are

  • A closer with a consultative style. You take deals from first conversation to signed agreement by understanding the customer, not by dialing for volume. This is a relationship-driven role, not a cold-call seat.
  • You’ve sold and delivered in this world. You come from an account executive or account management role in staffing, recruiting, or workforce solutions — or from consulting and professional-services sales, where you sell against problems and resourcing needs. You know the hiring space.
  • Connected in life sciences. You know biotech, pharma, CDMOs, and CROs and the talent organizations around them — ideally across Maryland/DMV, Greater Philadelphia, or North Carolina. You know who makes hiring decisions, and they know you.
  • An owner and a self-starter. You don’t wait for process — you build it. A growth-stage company where the ceiling is yours to set is exactly where you want to be.
  • A translator. You make BioBuzz land just as well with a VP of HR or a hiring manager as in a room full of executives.
  • Accountable to outcomes. Pipeline is the means. Revenue and renewals are the end.
