Job Requirements

  • Use variety of equipment and welding processes. This may include, but is not limited to Arc, Hardfacing, Brazing and Tacking.
  • Weld and hardface components on weld positioner.
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
  • Weld separately or in combination, using hardfacing powders, rods, and other alloys.
  • Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to specifications.
  • Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.
  • Connect and turn regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained.
  • Determine required equipment and welding methods, and welding techniques.
  • Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
  • Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
  • Chip or grind off excess hardfacing using hand grinders, or other equipment.
  • Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.
  • Position and secure workpieces, using hoists, cranes, or hand tools.
  • Preheat workpieces prior to welding using torches or heating furnaces.
  • Guide and direct flames or electrodes on or across workpieces to melt or build up metal.
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
  • Clean or degrease parts, using wire brushes, portable grinders, or degreaser.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and operations.
  • Some repair expertise may be required, such as, but not limited to, repairing bits with minor hardfacing.

Experience and Education

  • High School diploma, minimum requirement
  • Experience with hardfacing operations, a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Be able to follow engineering prints and specifications
  • Know proper use and care of manufacturing equipment
  • Be able to use computer as necessary to obtain specifications and prints

Responsibilities

  • Contacting and schedule candidates for pre-employment processing
  • Communicating with candidates to provide necessary correspondence in support of the onboarding process
  • Providing support services to OHR's programs and projects
  • Providing support services to OHR 's business operations and mission objectives
  • Providing proactive services and communications to internal and external customers
  • Performing final collection and review of OHR documentation for CPC scheduling
  • Filing electronic files into shared folders, updating candidates' records in all required OHR tracking/scheduling/management systems to ensure candidates' processing status is accurate and available for performance reporting metrics; managing of shared inboxes on UNCLASSIFIED Systems
  • Escorting and brief candidates during onsite appointments
  • Coordinating and collaborating with other 'directorates to schedule CPC appointments for incoming candidates
  • Providing weekly CPC onboarding performance metrics reports
  • Developing/maintaining standard operating procedures for CPC pre-employment processes as needed
  • Developing training documentation as needed for OHR systems and/or SOPs
  • Coordinating/scheduling with OSG Drug Testing Program for civilian applicants
  • Providing travel support, to include Defense Travel System (DTS) authorizations, vouchers, invitational travel orders, temporary duty arrangements and processing of travel related requests/services

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources/Business/or 3 years of related experience
  • A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • TS/SCI clearance with a CI poly
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Technical curiosity with demonstrated ability to learn new concepts quickly including communications, controls, or protection fundamentals.
  • Background in military technical roles, electrical trades, apprenticeships, lineman/journeyman programs, instrumentation, automation, or communications technology.
  • Advanced education in business, engineering technology, industrial management, controls, or telecommunications (degree or certification).

Job Goal:

To prepare attractive USDA CNP approved meals for 20‐40 children and staff while keeping the kitchen and classroom areas clean and sanitary according to Health Department ordinances; to maintain adequate food stocks, kitchen supplies, and nutrition records; to provide accurate accounting of monthly expenditures, aligned with USDA CNP regulations and UMHS policies.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare creditable meals for children, volunteers, and staff using UMHS menu, menu planning sheets, standardized recipes and approved agency recipes
  • Maintain nutrition records as required, including monthly receipts for USDA reimbursement
  • Purchase food and supplies according to planned menu and seasonal availability
  • Must be able to drive an agency vehicle in order to complete shopping as needed for the center and kitchen
  • Store food and supplies properly
  • Ensure that food allergies and substitutions are documented on appropriate protocol forms; on file in the kitchen and documented on working menus.
  • Ensure new classroom staff receive meal service training
  • Assist in planning and preparation of classroom Nutrition Activities
  • Maintain safety of the environment for staff and children
  • Utilize the Children’s Nutrition Manager, Assistant, HS/EHS System Director and Fiscal Director as resources to meet USDA and Head Start requirements
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, tableware, pot, pans, etc. in a timely manner

  • Ensure disposal of garbage each school day
  • Perform minor maintenance duties as needed (change light bulbs, minor pest control, assist in maintaining exterior of building by picking up garbage, removing cobwebs, etc.)
