Overview
The Field Technician is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at customer sites including but not limited to loading and unloading tools, raw materials, equipment, and supplies. This position takes an active role on crews by participating in both scheduled and emergency projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate various pieces of equipment in the field and at our shop including but not limited to; pressure washers and jetters
Support various environmental projects such as:
Confined Space Entry
Trailer jetter operation
Power washing
Assist vacuum truck operators with hose
Waterway response
Hazardous materials clean up
Manifesting and labeling of containerized waste
Ensure the health and safety of the crew, customer, and site by adhering to safety policies and procedures by identifying, communicating, and mitigating hazards
Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
Working in a variety of weather conditions
Performing physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, under direction of crew leads
Overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays
Located in Byron Center, MI, no remote work available
Full-time position with room for advancement
Requirements:
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Ability to speak, read, and write English sufficiently
Pass pre-employment criminal background screening and drug screening

The tractor-trailer driver will safely and efficiently drive a tanker, straight-truck, box truck, or other appropriate vehicle to transport non-hazardous and hazardous (with proper licensing) liquid waste water to various customer locations in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) according to DOT regulations
Utilize assigned route while obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations
Maneuver CMV into loading and unloading areas
Assist with loading and unloading of products, using specialized equipment when warranted, and returns all equipment to designated area
Maintain signed invoices, bills of lading, and other required paperwork; deliver documentation to dispatch when work orders are complete
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and reports maintenance malfunctions to the fleet
manager and dispatch
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A and tanker endorsement
Option to obtain hazmat endorsement
Clean driving record
Must pass criminal background screening and pre-employment drug screen
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers
Ability to handle prolonged periods of sitting in a cab
Ability to remain focused in busy environments
Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds
Work Environment:
Overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays
Rotating On-Call
Most CDL drivers have daily routes and are home nightly

Job Summary:
The Vacuum Truck Operator will work with the Vacuum Truck Services team to provide exceptional service to our clients. Services provided include (but are not limited to): hydro excavating, confined space entry, spill cleanup, line flushing, power washing, water hauling, and loading and hauling of various fluids/ material. The chosen individual will perform this diverse range of activities with a focus on safety, professionalism and teamwork.

• Safely operate vacuum equipment in an industrial setting
• Follow company policies and procedures as well as various on-site Requirements:
• Provide exceptional service to all clients and professionally represent GFL
• Complete daily equipment pre-trips and driver logs required for NSC compliance
• Maintain detailed and accurate company documentation to accompany work performed
• Demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance
• Participate in safety programs such as safety meetings, near miss reporting and job hazard assessments
• Work independently while managing time and productivity and communicate effectively
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
• Vaild Commercial Driver's Licenese
• 2 years Industrial vacuum truck and/or hydro-excavating experience preferably with a combo unit
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Safety-focused attitude with experience working in an industrial setting
• Knowledge to perform minor maintenance on units to maintain efficient operation
• Possesses cleanliness and organizational skills
• Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
• Willing to accept after hour calls when necessary
• Some short-term travel and overnight may be required.
• Valid safety tickets such as First Aid/CPR, Construction Safety Training (CSTS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and H2S Alive are considered an asset
